The 5th annual Savannah Stopover is right around the corner. The 3-day event will take over a variety of downtown venues from March 5 through March 7, 2015. We just can’t say enough about the impact that Savannah Stopover and parent company MusicFile Productions have had on the Savannah scene.
The first big Savannah Stopover lineup announcement — maybe 30 or so acts? — is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11th. A limited number of 3-Day “Early Bird” passes ($65) will go on sale at 10 a.m. on that day via Ticketfly.
Savannah Stopover will also hold the “V” Kick Off Event on Friday, 11/21 at Southbound Brewing Company featuring Futurebirds from Athens and Stopover alums this mountain and Amythyst Kiah from Johnson City. Southbound is brewing a special beer in Futurebirds’ honor.
Futurebirds of course recently played Revival Fest — another MusicFile event — and played at a Stopover announcement party in 2013.
Stopover will host the Sched Party and announce the final lineup on Friday, 1/16 at The Jinx. Asheville-based River Whyless from Asheville, NC and, from Athens, Family and Friends, one of the most exciting live bands that I’ve seen this year.
The 2015 Savannah Stopover will be booking 4 bands through SonicBids. The festival also is also looking for interns and volunteers (volunteer@savannahstopover.com).
