You may not want to try your own internet search, or maybe you do, but Perfect Pussy is headlining at Hang Fire on Whitaker Street tonight. (It’s been quite a weekend for the small club, with the Soft Science label debut party on Thursday and drag on Friday.)
Also on the bill on Saturday are Tonto and Crazy Bag Lady, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see another act too.
Rolling Stone chose Perfect Pussy’s EP “I Have Lost All Desire for Feeling” as its top cassette of the year: “The Syracuse punks’ raw four-song demo has a simple liner note: ‘We are dedicated to honoring the sacred in our brothers and sisters.'”
The folks at Hang Fire are crediting Savannah Stopover’s Kayne Lanahan, who is also a contributor to this blog, with sending the Syracuse-based band their way. Stopover isn’t producing the show, but an increasing number of booking agents are reaching out to the festival when charting tours.
